The
shop.
Nassau Barbers opened in 2011 on Chambers Street in Princeton, a small classic men’s shop doing modern cuts, classic cuts, and everything in between. In May 2022 we moved a few blocks up to 20 Nassau Street, half a block from the university gates, and rebuilt the room from the studs.
The shop now feels more like a small private club than a barbershop. Floor-to-ceiling black apothecary cabinets, mullioned glass, white marble underfoot, leather chairs that weigh more than they should, and a wall of mounted heads keeping watch. We did it on purpose. We wanted somewhere we’d want to spend an hour.
Princeton’s community is deeply diverse, and our barbers cut accordingly. Every texture, every length, every style: fades, scissor work, beards, straight-razor shaves, head shaves, designs. Whatever you want, ask for it.
We don’t take appointments and we never have. Walk in, sign in, sit down. You’ll be in a chair as soon as we can get you there. We take cash or personal check. There’s a Chase a few doors down. If you need to step out for cash, leave us something for collateral.

Materials
Matte black millwork
Floor-to-ceiling apothecary cabinets with mullioned glass doors and a discreet inventory of every product we use.
White marble & white walls
Underfoot and overhead. The room reads quiet on purpose. The noise is on the walls.
Black leather chairs
Heavy. Chrome step plates. They reset themselves between cuts.
A quiet menagerie
A stag, a tiger, a bison, an elephant, a ram. They keep watch.
A list, no theatre. Read the menu.
